Face The M.I.X. - Casting Call for Contestants
Where: GSU School of Music - Standard Building, Rooms 300 & 302
Details: Filming starts soon for the pilot season of "Face The M.I.X.", a music industry competition with Music Industry eXperts (M.I.X.) where contestants compete to win a choice of top positions.
Face the MIX is a reality show created to give music industry hopefuls ("candidates") real world challenges along with guidance and education from industry experts. Face the M.I.X. will provide the best performing candidates internships with music industry companies such as The Atlantis Music Conference & Festival, The Recording Academy (NARAS), Live Nation, Driven Marketing, PolyPlat Records, etc... The candidates that participate on Face the M.I.X. will have the opportunity to experience the real pressures and demands of the music industry by completing tasks that test their skills and knowledge in touring, radio promotion, publicity, marketing and other specific fields. By the shows end, the interns will know if they have what it takes to succeed in various fields and if they even want to pursue a career in the music business.
SHOW FACTS: 20 candidates will be selected to participate on Face the MIX through a one day casting call. The 20 candidates will divide into 5 teams to complete assignments centered around the up and coming pop/rock band State of Man, (independent group that has spent 8 weeks on Billboard’s Hot Single Sales chart peaking at #10 with their single Swallow Your Fears / www.stateofmanmusic.com ). The tasks allow the interns to work on real life scenarios and experience real success in the music business. The interns will be evaluated and coached by three judges who are established music industry professionals as well receiving advice from industry experts that are related to each task.
FILMING: Face the MIX tasks and filming will run sporadically from late November through late March with approximately 12-14 days of filming. The pilot episode will premier on YouTube while being pitched to TV networks.
CASTING CALL What To Expect: Interview, head shot, test video shoot (if selected by judges).
Filming starts soon.
